GU Spending on Lobbying for Boathouse Reported

According to a May 14 article by Christine Roberts in The Hoya, Georgetown University has paid more than $1 million since 2005 for lobbying on behalf of its proposal to build a boathouse on land within the C&O Canal National Historical Park, including $40,000 during the present year. The article adds information to an earlier report by Juliana Brint in The Georgetown Voice. On April 2, the Voice also published an editorial on the issue ("Boathouse Should Not Be a Priority"), as well as a related item in its "Letters to the Editor" section.
