Support Catoctin Aqueduct Restoration Through the Adopt a Stone Program
The Catoctin Aqueduct Adopt a Stone program is now operational on the Catoctin Aqueduct Project’s website. This educational, interactive program allows you to claim your place in history by contributing to the final phase of the campaign to restore the beautiful structure that once enabled boats on the C&O Canal to cross Catoctin Creek near Lander, Maryland.
To explore the Adopt a Stone program, click on the oval "hot button" at the center of the Projects's welcome page. Peruse the many options -- eight types of stones in four sections of the aqueduct are available. Select the stone that you wish, and finalize the adoption with a tax-deductible donation to help raise the final $120,000 needed for the project.
Adopters' names and their stone number will be listed on the Adopt a Stone donor page. One stone each has been pre-assigned to each major donor that made a donation prior to the initiation of the Adopt a Stone Program. Among them is the C&O Canal Association, which is a partner in the restoration project.
