Terrapin Run Development May Affect Canal Park

The proposed Terrapin Run development in Allegany County would place 4,300 housing units on land adjacent to Green Ridge State Forest, along Scenic Route 40 and West Shipley Road. Opponents state that treated sewage from the development would be discharged into Terrapin Run, a tributary of 15 Mile Creek, which flows through the C&O Canal National Historical Park. They further state that water for the development would be drawn from 15 Mile Creek.
