C & O Canal Association - Printable Hike Sign-up Sheet and Liability Waiver

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT LEGAL DOCUMENT. READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING BELOW.

I understand that a hike is a strenuous activity that involves a certain amount of risk. Hiking and traveling to and from the trailhead may involve exposure to natural forces such as severe weather, harmful plants and animals, and dangerous terrain, and to possible accident or illness in remote places without available medical facilities.  I have made the final judgment that this hike is suitable for me and I am willing to take the risk.

In consideration for being permitted to participate in this hike, I agree to assume all risks and liabilities related to or resulting from the hike.  I agree that the C&O Canal Association and its volunteer leaders, officers, or representatives will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage to myself or members of my family, pets or property arising from or as a consequence of this hike, whether or not caused in whole or in part by the conduct of the officers, directors, voluntary leaders or other representatives of the C&O Canal Association.
