This year the President’s Lunch will be held on a new date and at a new location
Date: Sept. 26, 2026, 11:00am
Location: Captain Bender’s Tavern Public House & Eatery, 111 E. Main St., Sharpsburg, MD
Parking: town lot, 104 S. Mechanic St. (just past Nutter’s Ice Cream) or along the street
Lunch: Everyone will order from the menu and are responsible for their checks
The tavern was originally founded in 1936 by a former canal boat captain, Raleigh Bender, and has been a town mainstay ever since.
After lunch, the group will take a short walk around town to view reminders of the town’s canal heritage.
