This year the President’s Lunch will be held on a new date and at a new location

Date: Sept. 26, 2026, 11:00am

Location: Captain Bender’s Tavern Public House & Eatery, 111 E. Main St., Sharpsburg, MD

Parking: town lot, 104 S. Mechanic St. (just past Nutter’s Ice Cream) or along the street

Lunch: Everyone will order from the menu and are responsible for their checks

After lunch, we to walk up to Sharpsburg’s new Historical Park and view the six interpretive panels, including one entitled “Canals and Turnpikes Fuel Economic Growth.” Afterwards, we will walk back toward the center of town. A visit to the town museum, currently closed, may also be arranged. Lastly, we will view the town mural, which includes a canal boat and mule team that reflects the town’s canal history. For those who have room for a sweet treat, Nutter’s Ice Cream is just across the street.
