A special reception for C&O Canal Association members and guests will be held for this special exhibit.

The C&O Canal Association and the Jewish Community Center of Rockville are co-sponsoring a multimedia exhibit that celebrates America’s 250th anniversary through a tour of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park.

The exhibit “Currents of History: The C&O Canal and America’s 250th Anniversary” brings the Canal to life through pastel landscape paintings and blueprints, original photographs, global postal images and philatelic history, sculpture, and the first-ever 3D relief map of the Canal. The exhibit is curated by Joel Cohen, a biologist, research scholar, and Association member; Jean Hirons, a pastel artist; Wendy Ross, an artist and sculptor; and Jon Wolz, a canal historian and Association member.
