This log lockhouse, measuring 17′ x 29′ 3″, is two stories over a full stone basement. Reconstructed in 1978, the house is on the towpath side of the lock at mid-lock. Its length is perpendicular to the run of the lock.
From 1998 through 2017, the association staffed this lockhouse on weekends from Memorial Day weekend through September. Due to vandalism in 2009, the association purchased replacement period-appropriate furnishings for the lockhouse.
