The Park Planner is a four-page 8 ½ x 11 inch glossy document gives the visitor information regarding the C&O Canal National Historical Park. The planner explains the ways to explore the park and the regulations about the various activities that can be enjoyed while in the park, some of which are biking, boating and fishing, hiking, picnicking, the visitor center hours and locations, and summer ranger programs. It also features hiking trails in the park and a list of facilities available.
This document has had many different titles, but is presently titled Park Planner. Over the years, C&O Canal Association donations have covered the printing costs. It is updated by the park service every two years.
Over the years the Association has contributed nearly $64,000 towards the publication of the Park Planner.
